West Dunbartonshire Council is currently carrying out the final public consultation on the proposed revised Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.

The review looks at the future structure and operation of Community Councils across West Dunbartonshire, including boundaries, membership, governance, meetings, public participation, finance, conduct, complaints and the support required to help Community Councils operate effectively and sustainably. The consultation is open until Thursday 1st October 2026.

Attached below is an Executive Summary which provides an overview of the review, the main proposals and the work carried out to date. I have also attached the flyer for the in-person engagement sessions taking place across West Dunbartonshire.

Please share the consultation with your members, service users, networks or other contacts who may have an interest in Community Councils or local community representation.
